Application Spotlight

Mitosis

Studying the events of mitosis is one of the most sensitive microscopy applications. Cells stressed by phototoxicity (light induced damage) quickly stop dividing and soon die. Maintaining live cell viability in a high-resolution imaging environment is one of the most challenging applications on a microscope stage.

DeltaVision's unique combination of gentle light delivery and stringent environmental control provides experiment conditions gentle enough on cells that they can be imaged through multiple rounds of cell division. Stringent control of these factors are critical to successful live cell imaging experiments in your lab. Following cell cycle progress for days versus hours improves data collection, increases understanding of the process of interest and opens new areas of investigation.
