| Position Summary: |
Seeking a success-oriented Applications Scientist to support Applied Precision's Life Science Sales Team. This is a technical support position for both pre- and post- sale functions.

| Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities: |
- Provide scientific and technical support during product demonstrations, tradeshow events, and workshops.
- Train users on hardware and software included in bio-imaging products.
- Assist Product Marketing and Engineering groups in the development and testing of new products and procedures.
- Develop and update advanced product training courses.
- Write and review technical bulletins and product documentation
- Communicate effectively to a large audience in a classroom or demonstration setting.

| Education/Experience: |
- Must be a team player
- Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills.
- Minimum 50% travel required (domestic and international).
- Must have a B.S. or higher in Cell or Molecular Biology or related field.
- Must have expertise in several of the following key areas:
- Widefield/Deconvolution or Confocal Microscopy
- Fluorescence imaging
- Microarray technology
- Digital Image Analysis
- Statistical Analysis
- UNIX based operating systems (IRIX, Linux, etc)
