Job Title: Product Engineer

Reports To: Sr. Manager, Product Engineering
Position Summary:

This candidate filling this position will research and select electrical, optical, and mechanical components for Applied Precision's instrumentation products. The candidate must be self-motivated, self-directed and able to function in a small, fast-paced development team.

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:
  • Specify systems components based on engineering evaluation of requirements and defined system architecture.
  • Complete evaluation testing as required to verify life and utility of proposed parts for intended purpose.
  • Draft source control documentation, incoming test procedures and manage release process for new parts and assemblies.
  • Perform electrical and electronics subsystem troubleshooting to complete component tests and sustaining engineering.
  • Perform subsystem design and specify testing procedures for field replaceable units.
Qualifications:
  • B.S.E.E., B.S.M.E or equivalent technical training and experience.
  • 5+ years engineering experience.
  • Familiarity with MRP and ERP system procedures
  • Familiarity with vendor selection and sourcing of engineering components
  • A highly self-motivated and a solid team player with excellent oral and written communication skills.
